When Jacob is about to reunite with Esau a man suddenly appears out of no where and wrestles him throughout the night and pops his hip out of place....Then it said he wrestled with man and God....
Is this literal or metaphorical?
I can see hit both ways....since he limps afterward im feeling that its literal, but I dont understand exactly why this occurred...

It is foretelling Israel's struggle and wrestle with God before Christ.
If salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?
