Genealogy in Genesis 5

Here is a bit of cool information. I think it shows just how perfect God is.

The gospel presented in Genesis chapter 5. Here we have a list of names, BUT what makes it special? The order of them, and their meanings. We have Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan (Cainan), Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, and Noah.


Hebrew English

Adam Man
Seth Appointed
Enosh Mortal
Kenan Sorrow
Mahalalel The Blessed God
Jared Shall come down
Enoch Teaching
Methuselah His death shall bring
Lamech The despairing
Noah Rest, or comfort

This is all just awesome. It shows God had his plans of redemption from the beginning. Christ wasnt just a teacher. He is the One, and showed us that from the beginning. Praise God!

Methuselah was always interesting for me, let alone the meaning of the name. The bible always has good passages about morals and the evil of men. That is why we need Jesus of course!

Methuselah's name was given because when he died is when the flood would happen.

The year he did is the year the flood happened.

Its awesome how God works things, and they all fit together.
